Thessaloniki International Airport (SKG), also known as Macedonia Airport, is located 13 kilometers southeast of the city center, directly on the Gulf of Thessaloniki, and is the second busiest airport in mainland Greece and the third busiest in the country, after Athens and Crete-Heraklion.
The airport is located in the northern part of Greece and serves, in addition to the city of Thessaloniki and the surrounding cities, the tourist destinations of the Chalkidiki peninsula. Macedonia International Airport is reached by numerous charter flights during the summer period.
To reach Thessaloniki, or to go to your destination, you can take one of the buses that connect the airport to the city in about 45 minutes, leaving every half hour, rent a car directly at the airport and follow the easy road signs, or board one of the cabs that stop in front of the arrivals terminal.
